Former Australian cricketer David Warner has signed on for his first Telugu film titled "Robinhood," directed by Venky Kudumala. He will be appearing in a guest role alongside the lead actors Nithiin and Sree Leela.

David Warner is known to be a huge fan of Tollywood (the Telugu film industry). During his time with the Sunrisers Hyderabad, fans affectionately referred to him as "Pushpa," after the titular character in the film "Pushpa." He gained a significant following through his TikTok videos and became popular for performing the hook steps to the song “Butta Bomma.” Warner has also expressed his admiration for Telugu superstar Allu Arjun.

There were rumors about Warner appearing in a cameo role in "Pushpa 2" alongside Allu Arjun, but these turned out to be promotional speculation. However, Warner has prior acting experience from appearing in a Cred advertisement directed by SS Rajamouli.

Warner’s interest in acting is evident, as fans from India appreciate him not only as a cricketer but also as an entertainer. The confirmation of his cameo in "Robinhood" was recently announced by director Venky Kudumala during a promotional event, where he stated

“We are very happy to have launched David Warner in Indian cinema with our ‘Robinhood.’” He also apologized to Warner for revealing the cameo before the official announcement.

Additionally, Warner is rumored to have signed on for another film, though no official details have been released yet. It’s exciting to see an Australian cricketer like David Warner making his debut in Indian cinema.
