The power couple, Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana, reveal their engagement story, with Sanjana sharing how Jasprit pulled off a dreamy proposal during the IPL 2020 Covid bubble.
Sanjana and Jasprit Bumrah appeared on the YouTube talk show “Who’s the Boss,” hosted by former Indian player Harbhajan Singh and his wife Geeta Basra. Jasprit Bumrah revealed how he arranged a bubble transfer during COVID times by speaking to officials and how he lit candles on the balcony, making the place perfectly dreamy for the proposal night.
“That was during COVID times. So, there were bubbles for every team," Bumrah said on the show, as quoted by Sportskeeda. “As luck would have it, she was in KKR, and I was with the Mumbai Indians (MI). Both teams were in Abu Dhabi. I carried a ring hoping that perhaps after the tournament ended, I’d get a chance. Apart from ground interactions, we couldn’t meet because of the bubble," as quoted by TOI.

“So, she (Sanjana) was out. Then, I had to tell people, 'Look, I’ve brought this ring. Please arrange a bubble-to-bubble transfer.' So, that transfer happened. When she arrived, I did everything myself. I placed the cake, decorated everything in my room, and had the ring ready," the pacer added.

Sanjana then shared her side of the story, revealing how confused she was by Jasprit’s actions and how she felt seeing the balcony full of candles:
“I came into the room, and he was telling me, ‘balcony mein chalo’ (come to the balcony). I was like, I’ve just walked in, at least give me water. But he was like, ‘nahi nahi balcony mein chalo’ (no, no come to the balcony)."
Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana got married in March 2021, and they have a son named Angad, born in 2023. Currently, the power couple is travelling together in England. India is trailing the series 1-0 in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy and is practicing in Birmingham as they look to make a comeback ahead of the 2nd Test starting June 2.
