It was not to be Dimuth Karunaratne's day, as the southpaw failed to convert his good start onto a big score on his last Test match against Australia in Galle. The 36-year-old was dismissed for 36 by Nathan Lyon, as Australia pocketed the second session with good bit of disciplined bowling as Lyon led the charge with two wickets. Australia ended the second session with four wickets.
The home side started the second session on a strong note aiming to make Aussies toil hard for wickets, but it was not be as Lyon bowled a terrific spell post lunch to dismiss Karunaratne and Angelo Matthews. Skipper Steven Smith bowled Lyon unchanged in the second session and reaped rich rewards. Apart from Lyon, Mitchell Starc and Travis Head also chipped in with a wicket apiece.
For the hosts, only Dinesh Chandimal looked solid, and yet again led the way by scoring a defiant half century. The right-hand batter is going strong and would be aiming to score a big hundred.

Australia aim to bundle Sri Lanka out in the final session
Looking ahead in the third and final session of the day, the visitors would be looking to take the remaining five wickets, and aim to keep Lankan down below 250. Batting always gets difficult in sub continent in the fourth and fifth days, as the wicket tends to deteriorate. Australia would be hoping to not let Lankans get to 300
