The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have given Rohit Sharma and Co a specially crafted 'Champions Ring' for winning the T20 World Cup 2024. The Board gave this present to all the members of the team during its Annual Naman Awards.
"Presenting #TeamIndia with their CHAMPIONS RING to honour their flawless campaign in the #T20WorldCup," BCCI wrote on X along with the video.
"Diamonds may be forever, but this win certainly is immortalized in a billion hearts. These memories will 'Ring' loud and live with us forever," it added. Â
The video showed players receiving special rings that had their names and numbers engraved with Ashoka Chakra in the center.
These supremely special 'Championship Rings' have been crafted by taking a leaf out of from American sports leagues such as NFL, and NBA. It is to be noted that NFL and NBA leagues have made it a norm to give their players 'Championship Rings' on account of wining titles.
Not all members of the Indian team could be able to receive this special rings due to national commitments and personal reasons Only Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya were among those who received their rings.
