Delhi Capitals (DC) will take on Gujarat Giants (GG) in match 10 of the ongoing Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 season. Both teams are coming off losses from their respective last matches. While DC went down to Uttar Pradesh Warriorz (UP), GG are coming off a thumping loss against Mumbai Indians (MI). It's the halfway stage of WPL, and things are looking a bit bleak for GG yet again.
After finishing bottom of the points table in the previous two seasons, GG are yet again placed last on the points table this season. The team has played three games so far, and have managed to win just one game. With no more room for slip-ups, GG have to fire as a unit if they harbor hopes of qualifying for the first playoffs of the WPL season.

New season, new skipper, but GG's fortunes have remained the same. Despite the team consisting of some of the finest players like Ash Gardner, Beth Mooney, Deandra Dottin, and Harleen Deol, the team has not managed to churn out wins on a consistent basis. On both of GG's losses against RCB and MI, their bowling came as a copper, as they failed to defend scores over 160. Like MI, RCB, or UP, GG do not have a game-changing spinner.
While Gardner and Tanuja Kanwar are spin options, they are more containing spin options rather than wicket-taking ones. It is in the middle overs in the bowling that GG have to start taking wickets on a regular basis. Meanwhile, DC have looked good with the ball so far, but have floundered with the bat. The ever-reliable pair of Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma have failed to to give the team blazing starts this season.
DC's middle-order batters have also not been among the runs. The likes of Jemimah Rodrigues, Annabel Sutherland, and Kapp have failed to show consistency with bat in hand. It is in batting DC would love to put in a complete performance and start winning games consistently.
