India will be touring England for a five-match Test series shortly after the IPL 2025 concludes on June 3. The Test series starts with the first Test from June 20 at Headingley. The Test series kickstarts India and England's next WTC campaign. This is going to be a high-octane series with a reputation from the two big teams on the line. A lot has changed with the Indian team in the last few weeks. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have called time on their Test careers. Shubman Gill has been announced as the new Test skipper of the series and the entire country is looking forward to how he starts against England.
Talking about England, they have played a one-off Test match against Zimbabwe to get some match practice ahead of the start of the marquee series against England. The hosts have never made it to a WTC final, Hence there will be an added sense of purpose when they start the series against India. For the Men in Blue, the WTC has been an unfinished business after losing two consecutive WTC finals. How India starts the Test series will be an interesting observation.

Significance of India's Tour Of England 2025
The series holds a lot of significance for both teams, more so for India. They are starting a new era in Test cricket under their young captain, Shubman Gill. The young batter has not cemented his place in the Test side. However, with captaincy entrusted upon him, it will be interesting to see how starts and more importantly, where he bats in the batting-order. The series is also important for a few other Indian players namely Karun Nair, Nitish Kumar Reddy and a few others who have been given another chance in Test cricket. The squad selected is very young and inexperienced and hence, how they go about their business against a strong England side will be an interesting observation.
From England's perspective, this is an important series given that it starts the home summer. They have won against Zimbawe but the real Test begins against India. They will also host Australia in an Ashes series later this year and hence winning this series is key ahead of that marquee series as well. Ben Stokes has recovered well from his knee injury as he bowled a few overs against Zimbabwe. How much he bowls against India will also give a massive hint about his fitness as well.
