Haris Rauf was fined 30% of his match fee by the ICC for disrespectful gestures during the Super Four clash against India. In a recent update, the PCB has decided to appeal the ICC’s sanction. Earlier reports on Saturday suggested that PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi would personally pay the fine, but it now appears the PCB will formally challenge the ICC’s decision.
According to Revsportz, the Pakistan Cricket Board is set to appeal the punishment handed to Rauf. The sanction came after his conduct during the IND vs PAK Super Fours clash on September 21, where he engaged in a heated exchange with India’s openers, made provocative gestures to fans near the boundary, and was reported for using abusive language.
“PCB to appeal for Haris Rauf after the Pakistan pacer was sanctioned by the ICC following his actions in the game against India on September 21 in Dubai,” the report said.
BCCI Appeals Suryakumar Yadav’s Post-Match Remarks Verdict
Meanwhile, the BCCI is also reportedly appealing the verdict against Suryakumar Yadav. The Indian batter faced charges over post-match remarks made after India’s group-stage win on September 14, where he dedicated the victory to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and the armed forces.

A final decision on both appeals is expected only after the tournament concludes on September 28. Earlier reports had indicated that the ICC had not formally charged Suryakumar.

Having already lost twice to India in the tournament, Pakistan will be desperate to settle the score, while India aims to maintain their unbeaten streak and assert their dominance.
