The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has apparently proposed a tender for the jersey sponsorship for the Indian Cricket Team on Wednesday, September 03. The announcement from the board was on the expected lines following the primary sponsor Dream11's exit last month, following the government's ban on real money gaming companies under the law of Promotion & Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025.
Following the parting ways of Dream11, the BCCI has also made it clear that it won't have any gaming, betting, crypto, and tobacco companies eligible to bid and have them as title jersey sponsors. Apart from these, even Athleisure and sportswear manufacturers, banking and financial companies, non-alcoholic cold beverages, fans, mixer grinders, safety locks, and insurance companies will also be barred from floating a tender. These companies, if they bid, will be in trouble with the existing sponsors from the board.

However, the BCCI has stated that surrogate brands will not be permitted. The clause in Tuesday's September 01 media release states:
"Bidders are prohibited from submitting bids through surrogate brands. Surrogate branding refers to any attempt to indirectly submit a bid on behalf of a different entity or Person through the use of a different entity or person. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of different names, brands, identities, or logos."
BCCI's demands to the new bidders for the primary jersey sponsors
To be eligible to bid, the prospective companies must have a net worth or an average turnover of INR 300,00,00,000 (or INR 300 crore).

"The Board of Control for Cricket in India ("BCCI") invites bids from reputed entities for acquiring the National Team Lead Sponsor Rights. Accordingly, the BCCI is issuing an Invitation for Expression of Interest for National Team Lead Sponsor Rights ("IEOI"), which provides the detailed terms and conditions governing the submission and evaluation of bids."
The final date for the purchase of IEOI is nine days away, September 12. The bidding will be conducted till September 16, which means the Suryakumar Yadav-led India will be without a jersey sponser for the upcoming Asia Cup, starting on September 09 to 28.
