Legendary batter Virat Kohli made his first public appearance after winning the maiden IPL title for RCB on June 03 in the Wimbledon court. It was after 10 years that Kohli made it to the elite and prestigious sports event along with his better half, Anushka Sharma. Not a lot has changed since the right-hand batter's Test retirement, as his sassy and witty sense of humor is still very intact. However, all the fans were still curious to know why he had quit his favorite format after he was so close to mount 10,000 Test runs.
Speaking at a charity gala hosted by former cricketer Yuvraj Singh in England for the YouWeCan Foundation, the RCB player jokingly said, “I just colored my beard two days ago. You know it’s time when you are coloring your beard every four days.”
As per the Times of India report, the grand and star-studded event was attended by a lot of present and former international players. In attendance were also the entire Indian Team and coaching staff, including head coach Gautam Gambhir. Sachin Tendulkar, Brain Lara, Chris Gayle, Kevin Pietersen and Ashish Nehra also attended the event. Kohli was first seen interacting with Pietersen before he was taken away by stage host Gaurav Kapoor.

“Honestly, if I wasn’t working with him… what happened in Test cricket wouldn’t have been possible. The clarity that we had together is very hard to find. It’s everything for cricketers to grow in their careers. Even he hadn’t backed me the way he did… those press conferences where he took the bullets from the front line. Things would have been different, and I always have respect and regard for him for being a massive part of my cricketing journey,” said Kohli.
