Sanju Samson low scores ve England

Sanju Samson the Indian wicket-keeper batsman scored just 51 runs in the T20I series against England. He was out to the short-ball repeatedly. In all the five T20Is, Samson was out against the short ball to the England pacers.

Jofra Archer dismissed him thrice in the series, Saqib Mahmood in the fourth T20I and Mark Wood in the fifth T20I. He was repeatedly targeted around his hips as the pacers tucked him up and he fell to the square-leg fielder in every game.

Former Indian skipper  Kris Srikkanth expressed his disappointment over Sanju Samson's struggles against the short ball in the T20I series against England. Srikkanth said that Samson was in some kind of ego trip in the series trying to dominate the England pacers.

"Sanju Samson seems to have missed the bus. For the fifth time, getting out in the same manner. He has played a similar shot. I think he is trying to show his ego. He is trying to say 'no, no, I will play this shot'. Is he going on an ego trip or struggling? I am not sure," Srikkanth said.

Kris Srikanth Warns Sanju Samson Of Losing His Place In T20I Setup

He further said that with Yashasvi Jaiswal back in the scheme of things for India, Samson will lose out on his spot if he keeps playing like this. The Kerela cricketer was also not picked in the side for the upcoming Champions Trophy in Pakistan.

"It's very sad. I am disappointed. We spoke about why he was not picked in the Champions Trophy squad. If he continues playing like this, let's say thank you, sorry, Yashasvi Jaiswal is back. In the next T20I match, Yashasvi automatically comes in, in my opinion," he added.

Samson cemented his place in the side after his centuries against Bangladesh and South Africa. However, his recent series against England coupled with his injury concern might see him stay out of the side for some time now. He fractured his index finger in the fifth T20I against England after he was hit by Jofra Archer.
