Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir has responded to those who were spreading rumours during the team's last visit to Australia. India lost the series 3-1 and a lot was being spoken and written against the Indian team.

As the rumours gathered force in Australia, Gautam Gambhir decided to remain silent on the matter.  However, after helping the Indian team secure a 4-1 T20I series win against England, Gambhir decided to give it back to those spreading the rumours.

After the win in the fifth T20I in Mumbai, in a post-match chat, Gambhir clarified his take on the rumors and actually laughed at the people who created those rumours.

"They have played a lot of cricket with each other. More importantly, a month back, there were a couple of other rumours flying around (laughs). That's what Indian cricket is all about. There will be so many things said about the dressing room when things are not going okay. But once results start going in your favour, things start falling in place," Gambhir said.

The head coach, however, did not say that the rumours were lies but went onto say that this is the nature of the game. Several fans and commentators said that there was a lack of unity in how the team played in Australia which resluted in the losses.

We Want To Play High-Risk High-Reward Cricket - Gautam Gambhir

Gambhir also spoke about the England T20I series win and said that the team is ready to play the high-risk high reward brand of cricket in the shortest format.

"That's the kind of T20 cricket we want to play. We don't want to fear losing a game of cricket. We want to play high-risk, high-reward cricket. And these guys have adopted that ideology really well,” Gambhir told the host broadcaster after the match on Sunday.
"Unless and until you don't play that high-risk cricket, you won't get those big rewards as well. Most importantly, I think we're on the right track. Come those big tournaments, we want to continue playing this way and we don't want to fear losing anything," he added.

The Indian team will now play a three-match ODI series against England starting with the first ODI in Nagpur on Thursday, February 6.
