Pacer Josh Tongue was released from the England Test squad minutes after the start of the fourth Test in Manchester. He played the first two Tests picking up 11 wickets. England won at Headingley, while India won the Edgbaston Test match.
Tongue was replaced by Jofra Archer in the third Test at Lord’s and the tall and lanky pacer made an immediate impact with the ball. He was instrumental in helping England win the third Test, dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal twice in the same Test match.
Meanwhile, Tongue travelled to Manchester with the England squad for the fourth Test. He was released to play for Nottinghamshire for their County Championship match against Hampshire in Southampton. The pacer was released during the lunch break. He has played five Tests for England so far picking up 23 wickets.

Nottinghamshire's Statement On Josh Tongue
Tongue’s county club, Nottinghamshire, released a statement on social media about him leaving the Test squad. Meanwhile, the match between the two clubs is on with Nottinghamshire scoring 319 runs for five wickets after being asked to bat first by Hampshire.
"Following the beginning of the fourth Rothesay Test at Old Trafford, Josh Tongue has been released from England duty to play for Nottinghamshire. The fast bowler will join the ongoing match against Hampshire on arrival at Utilita Bowl” the statement read.
Josh Tongue joined Nottinghamshire after leaving his previous club Worcestershire. He spoke about his excitement playing for the club with BBC.
"I had a bit of nerves performing with the crowd, thinking 'is Tongue good enough? But hopefully they have gone home really happy with the first win of the season” he said.

India In Trouble In Manchester
Meanwhile, the Indian team is in a spot of bother on day 1 of the fourth Test in Manchester. After not losing a wicket in the first session and scoring 78 runs, India have now lost three wickets in the second session, adding just 71 runs India at team are 149 runs for 3 wickets. Chris Woakes dismissed KL Rahul (46 runs off 98 balls) just after lunch. Liam Dawson then picked up the key wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal (58 runs off 107 balls) and Ben Stokes dismissed his opposite number, Shubman Gill for just 12 runs off 33 balls. The wickets fell for India on 94, 120 and 140 runs.
