Vengsarkar on India's changes for Manchester Test

The Indian Cricket Team suffered a major setback as all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is almost likely to be ruled out of the ongoing five-match Test series against England due to a serious knee injury. The youngster copped a blow to his left knee while practicing in the training ahead of the fourth Test in Manchester. For now, the all-rounder has been ruled out of the fourth Test. However, it is highly unlikely that Reddy will play the fifth and final Test as well.

This development comes after pacer Akash Deep, one of India's shining stars in the second Edgbaston Test, is likely to miss the fourth Test due to a back injury. Along with him, Arshdeep Singh, will also be a non-starter for the Manchester Test, set to be played from July 23 to 27.

Sources have confirmed Nitish Reddy sustained injury to his left knee. The seriousness of the blow is still unclear, as the management is awaiting scan reports. Anshul Kamboj added to the squad as a backup bowler

With Deep and Arshdeep unlikely to play any role for the remainder of the Test series, pacer Anshul Kamboj has been added to the squad as a backup. However, it is highly unlikely the youngster will get to play, as Shardul Thakur will most certain get a look in place of Reddy. The veteran played the first Test before making way for the Andhra all-rounder for the second and third Tests. England are leading the five-match Test series 2-1.
