The Men in Blue will return to the shortest format after their bilateral T20 series against England in February earlier this year. With Gill back in the T20Is, the Test skipper will likely open alongside his Punjab teammate Abhishek Sharma. Samson, who opened in 2024 and in the T20 series against England in early 2025, now finds his spot in jeopardy without much of his fault. Barring the Kerala batter's selection headache, the middle-order looks formidable with Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh, & Tilak Varma in it.
Skipper Surya is struggling for some form ever since his leadership role, but expect the veteran batter to return to his run-scoring ways sooner rather than later. Bowling will see Bumrah alongside Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, and Varun Chakaravarthy, although India might be tempted to play all-rounder Axar Patel to strengthen their batting depth.
On the other hand, the UAE, who will be led by Muhammad Waseem, has a few exciting young players in Rahul Chopra, Simranjeet Singh, and Saghir Khan.
