The Punjab Kings (PBKS) vs Delhi Capitals (DC) IPL 2025 match was called off at the Dharamsala stadium on Thursday, May 8, as India declared war against Pakistan as a response to the Pahalgam attack. Punjab scored 122 runs for one wicket when the match was called off.
The IPL officials ensured that the ground was vacated on time and the players, including Indian and overseas, were taken to safety. The broadcasters termed the abandonment of the match as a technical failure. However, the real reason behind the same was that India declared war against Pakistan overnight.
The situation between India and Pakistan has escalated after the Indian Army's response to the Pahalgam attack. Meanwhile, as the tension escalates, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal has said that "IPL will go on" as the officials await government directives.
