Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are chasing a mammoth target of 225 runs against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad on Friday, May 2. This is a must-win match for them to stay alive in the season.
Banking on their openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, SRH are looking to pull off a heist. The GT bowlers looks to be up for the challenge and looking to rattle the opener early.
Travis Head (20 runs off 16 balls) and Abhishek Sharma (17 runs off 9 balls) have given the team a steady start in the big run-chase. Keeping up with the asking rate both the batters kept on the charge hitting big shots at regular intervals. Mohammed Siraj ( 22 runs in 2 overs) and Ishant Sharma (20 runs in 2 overs) have 45 runs in the first two overs with the SRH openers hitting six boundaries in the first four overs.
Prasidh Krishna (11 runs in 2 overs) came into bowl the fifth over of the SRH innings and made an immediate impact as he dismissed Head as Rashid Khan took a brilliant catch close to the boundary line. Thus after leaking a few runs in the first few overs, GT finally made the breakthrough in the fifth over. Ishan Kishan came into bat at number three as SRH went past the 50-run mark in the fifth over. By the end of the powerplay, SRH reached 57 runs for 1 wicket. Gerald Coetzee, bowling the eighth over went for 11 runs in his first over. Bowling his second over, which was the tenth of the SRH innings he dismissed Ishan Kishan (13 runs in 17 balls) as Hyderabad reached 85 runs for two wickets.
Previously in the game, GT posted 224 runs for six wickets batting first. It was their top three that did the scoring once again. Sai Sudharsan (48 runs off 23 balls), Shubman Gill (76 runs in 38 balls) and Jos Buttler (64 runs off 37 balls) scored the runs. For GT, Jaydev Unadkat (35 runs for 3 wicket) was the pick of the bowlers. Mohammed Shami bowled a spell of 48 runs in three overs before he was subbed out. Pat Cummins (1 wicket for 40 runs) and Zeeshan Ansari (1 wicket for 42 runs) took the other wickets.
