Ahmedabad is all set to host the finale of the 18th edition of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) event on Tuesday, June 03. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday, May 20, took the decision. It is to be noted that Ahmedabad will also host the Qualifier 2 on June 01.
Incidentally, as per the original IPL 2025 schedule, Eden Gardens in Kolkata was set to host the grand finale. However, due to torrential rain predicted around that time, Ahmedabad got the nod in the end. The IPL 2025 Qualifier One and Eliminator could be scheduled to be played in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh on May 29 and May 30, respectively.
RCB-SRH game moved to Lucknow
Also, another major development is the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) fixture is moved out of Bengaluru to Lucknow due to adverse weather conditions in and around Bengaluru city. As a result, RCB, whose two home games were remaining to be played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, will now play both their games against SRH and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

RCB's last game against KKR at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, May 17, was abandoned due to rain. Ever since then, Rajat Patidar & Co. have stayed indoors due to heavy rains and thunderstorms in Bengaluru. RCB was informed about the update on Tuesday afternoon, May 20, just ahead of their scheduled optional practice session. The switch in venues gives RCB a major boost in finishing in the top two in the IPL 2025 Points Table.
