Mumbai Indians batter Rohit Sharma has started training with the rest of the players of the franchise, with BCCI resuming IPL 2025 from May 17. The Indian skipper looked good and scored a few fifties before the season was stopped midway.
Mumbai Indians are currently placed fourth on the points table with seven wins from 12 games and 14 points. They ideally need to get to 18 points to secure their playoff spot.
Meanwhile, earlier this week, the BCCI announced the resumption of IPL 2025. With the India-Pakistan tensions at the border lessening, the board decided to resume the IPL from May 17, with KKR taking on RCB in the first match in Bengaluru. The BCCI previously announced a one-week postponement of the league on May 9 due to the cross-border conflict.

Rohit Sharma Breaks Silence On Test Retirement
Previously, Rohit Sharma announced his Test retirement on May 7. He broke his silence regarding his retirement, saying that defending his decision is a waste of time. Rohit had a poor outing in the series against Australia, scoring 31 runs in five Test matches and repeatedly getting out to left-arm seamers.
"I have faced a lot of criticism, even unnecessary criticism,” Rohit told Times of India. “I cannot say that criticism does not affect anyone. It might affect some, and not others. But for me, it does not anymore. With time, you learn to handle it. For any sportsperson, facing criticism is part of the journey. But what I don’t support is unnecessary criticism," Rohit said.
“So much has been said about me getting out to left-arm seamers. Fine, it happens. That’s part of the game. But if you go around defending every comment, you’re just wasting your time. Defending myself is not my job,” he further added.
