With the ICC Women's 50-over World Cup 2025 less than 30 days away, Indian Cricket Team batter Jemimah Rodrigues spoke at length about her lovely & memorable interaction with former India skipper Virat Kohli and his better half Anushka Sharma. The Women's player recalled her meeting with the power couple in New Zealand, where she and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana sought Kohli's advice on batting, prompting the star icon to invite the two women players to a cafe in a hotel where the men's and women's teams were staying.
The RCB star, who never shies away from giving advice to his competitors or peers, this time had a lengthy chat with Mandhana & Rodrigues - the two pillars in the Women's Cricket Team's batting line-up.

"Anushka was also there," Rodgriues said and went on to reveal, "First half hour we talked about cricket." She added, "he actually told Smriti and me that 'you both have the power to change women's cricket, and I can see that happening."
Rodgriues also stated they ended up conversing for four hours, where they "spoke about life. It felt like a few long-lost friends who met and spoke." The batter added that the only reason they cut short the conversation was because the cafe staff kicked us out.

Rodrigues & Mandhana set to play starring roles with bat for India CWC 2025
Without an iota of doubt, Rodgriues as well as Mandhana are two of India's best batters, alongside skipper Harmanpreet Kaur. While the leader will take on power-hitting in the 50-over World Cup, Mandhana and Rodrigues are set to play anchor roles. Over the years, the duo has also upped its power game. The latter in particular has often helped India setting big targets by batting aggressively in the middle phase of the innings.

Meanwhile, Mandhana has often given breezy starts for the team upfront. The southpaw's form in the last year or so has been phenomenal, as she is also the number one ODI batter in ICC Women's Rankings. Naturally, a lot will depend on Rodrigues and Mandhana if India wants to create history in a home World Cup.
