Kerala’s Aditya Sarwate resurrected his side after the initial collapse. Vidarbha pacer Darshan Nalkande brought Kerala openers Akshay Chandran and Rohan Kunnummal to the mat, cleaning up both the batters.
While Kunnummal was dismissed for a duck in the first over of the innings, Chandran hit a few boundaries before getting bowled on an inswinging delivery by Nalkande.
Vidarbha Gets Bundled at 379/10
Kerala bowlers were made to toil to dismiss Vidarbha’s last batting pair. Both Harsh Dubey and Nachiket Bhute added 44 runs for the final wicket.Â
Bhute, in particular, was the aggressor. He took on the Kerala bowlers and hit a few lusty bowls in his 32-run knock. Dubey, on the other end, looked to survive and made sure Bhute’s aggressive innings continued for as long as possible.
Aditya Sarwate Saves Kerala’s Sinking Ship
As the pitch had assistance for the pacers, Nalkande utilised the conditions well. He did not let the Kerala openers settle and sent both of the team packing before they could do any damage.
However, Sarwate in company of Ahammed Imran, saved Kerala’s sinking ship. The duo batted carefully and ensured that Kerala did not lose any more wickets.
At tea on Day 2, Kerala’s score reads 57/2. Sarwate and Imran are batting on 31 and 10 runs respectively.Â
Vidarbha are in the driving seat as of now but Kerala can come back into the game if the final session of the day goes their way.
