In a completely opposite set of affairs, Vidarbha made amends to their mistakes and completely dominated the proceedings in the second session of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 final versus Kerala.
While Kerala had taken early wickets in the morning, Danish Malewar and Karun Nair held fort and continued their march towards recovery. Malewar, in particular, did not let any run-scoring opportunity go wasted.Â
While Nair adopted a more cautious approach, Malewar took the attack to the Kerala bowlers and made sure the scoreboard kept ticking. As both these batters played their roles to perfection, Kerala did have any answers to their partnership and kept on their search for a wicket throughout the session.

Malewar Brings Up His Second Ranji Trophy CenturyÂ
Malewar, who is playing his first Ranji season, showed his class and was the key architect behind Vidarbha’s comeback. He hammered his second hundred this season and partnered with Nair to build an unbeaten 146-run stand for the fourth wicket.
The swashbuckling batter displayed patience early on in his innings. As soon as he settled in, there was no stopping him. He brought up his ton with a boundary off Aditya Sarwate.
Meanwhile, Nair supported Malewar in the fightback. The veteran used his experience and has scored 47 runs off 121 deliveries so far.
At the time of writing, Vidarbha’s score reads 170/3 in 58 overs. As for Kerala, they have a mighty task at their hands. On a pitch that is heavily supporting the pacers, they would want the final session of the day to go their way.
