Vidarbha are in cruise control in the Ranji Trophy 2025 final against Kerala in Nagpur currently. After the good work by the top-order batters, the lower-order are helping the team extend their lead close to 400.
Vidarbha ended day four on 294/4. On the next day, Karun Nair was dismissed for 135 off 295 balls. He could only add three runs to his overnight score.
However, the batters to follow continued the good work done by Nair and co overnight. Yash Rathod (24 off 56), skipper Akshay Wadkar (25 off 108) chipped in with crucial contributions. The lower-order batters are now continuing the good work.
Vidarbha On Top In Final Versus Kerala
Kerala, on the other hand, are piling up the pressure on them by conceding runs. At lunch, Vidarbha were well placed at 314/7 in 124.0 overs. Since then, they have made a cautious progress towards the target of 400-run lead.
Vidarbha well and truly are now controlling the game. In the first innings, they scored 379 runs led by a century from Danish Malewar (153 off 285) and Karun Nair (86 off 188). In the second innings, Nair has followed his 88 with another beautiful knock of 135.

Kerala in response to Vidarbha's first innings total were bowled out for 342. Skipper Sachin Baby scored 98 and fell agonisingly short of a 100. At the top Aditya Sarwate scored a classy 79.
It is interesting to see that with two more sessions to go on the final day, what target does Vidarbha set for Kerala and how much time they need to bowl them out to win the match. Vidarbha might get bowled out in the next session, but it's a huge lead that Kerala won't be able to chase it down, that too in less than two sessions.Â
