Former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar has broken his silence on social media, with his name being associated with several fake news over the years.
Since retiring from the game, Sunil Gavaskar has taken up commentary and is renowned for his direct and unbiased commentary on the game.
However, several reputed media organisations have circulated many fake news related to the former Indian skipper and he has finally come out in the open to have his say on the matter.

Sunil Gavaskar Urges Fans Not To Believe Everything On Social Media
Taking to his official Instagram account, Sunil Gavaskar has spoken about the issue and has requested the media houses not to misquote him. He asked them to verify and cross-check facts before linking his name to it.
"Over the last few months, it's come to my notice that a lot of sports websites and individual accounts have been attributing comments and quotes to me which I have never made. I request everybody to verify, fact-check and not to believe everything that they read. Particularly coming from some of these individual accounts and sports websites. God bless you all," Gavaskar said in his video.
"Please verify before believing quotes attributed to me," Gavaskar wrote in the caption of his video.
The former Indian skipper is part of the commentary team and is now in England for the commentary team of Sony Sports, presenting his expert opinion on the game. He strongly criticise India's loss at Headingley and especially criticised India's fielding effort calling them not Test class.
With India scheduled to play the second Test at Edgbaston from July 2, the former Indian skipper has urged the players to get back to practice ahead of the Test match.

Seriously Get Into Practice - Gavaskar Urges Team India
“Next couple of days you can take off, but now seriously get into practice. Leave this optional practice aside. You have come here to play for India. So, you practice in a way so that you will give yourself the best,” Gavaskar said on Sony Sports.
