Indian T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube have confirmed their availability to Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) that they will be available for the Ranji Trophy quarter-final against Haryana at Lahli. The match will be played from February 8-12 and begins from 9.30 am local time.

Mumbai finished second with 29 points after Jammu and Kashmir, who defeated Baroda in the last round, emerged as Group A leader with 35 points. Mumbai are the defending champions of the Ranji Trophy having won the title for the 42nd time in the  2023–24 season.

SKY had a poor T20I series against England. He was successful as a skipper but his bat remained silent throughout the series. He had scores of  0, 14, 12, 0 and 2 in the five T20Is against England.

“Yadav and Dube have informed us that they are available for the quarter-finals. The selection committee will meet soon and pick a squad for the same,” a source in the MCA confirmed.

Meanwhile, Shivam Dube made an impact with the bat in the series. Dube was roped into the squad for the final two games. He made an impact with the bat in both the games. He scored a half-century in the fourth T20I and scored a quickfire 30 off 13 balls in the fifth game. He also picked two wickets with the ball in the fifth T20I proving his all-round skills. Incidentally, he bagged a pair in his last Ranji Trophy match against Jammu & Kashmir.

Both SKY and Dube are not part of India's Champions Trophy squad. While SKY was given the mandate of only playing in T20Is by head coach Gautam Gambhir since he became India's full-time T20I skipper there is no place as of now to fit in Dube despite his recent heroics. Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar are the three all-rounders picked in the side for the Champions Trophy.
