Legendary England fast bowler James Anderson did not find any takers for the 2025 Men's Hundred draft on Wednesday, March 12. The veteran pacer, who retired from cricket at the start of Summer in 2024, had enrolled his name in The Hundred draft. However, as it happened in IPL, Anderson did not find any takers for the Hundred draft. The 42-year-old has not played T20 cricket in over a decade, though the pacer's new one-year deal with Lancashire will see him play the T20 Blast.
Anderson went into the Hundred draft without a reserve price, but the legendary pacer missed out on the 26 available domestic spots across the Eight Hundred franchises. The right-arm pacer could still feature in the tournament if he gets selected as a wildcard pick.
Michael Bracewell and Noor Ahmad headline The Hundred draft
For the unversed, New Zealand all-rounder Bracewell and Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad were the two players that secured big contracts in The Hundred, with each securing £200,000 deals. Ahmad will turn out for Manchester Originals, whose new owners, RP Sanjiv Goenka Group, also own his SA20 franchise Durban Super Giants. Bracewell will play for Southern Brave, and his massive price reflects his ongoing stellar run of form for New Zealand in the white-ball formats.
Another Kiwi batter, Rachin Ravindra also bagged The Hundred contract as he will turn out for Manchester Originals with a deal worth £120,000. The southpaw was named the player of the tournament in the CT final with 263 runs and three wickets to his name.
