The relation between India and Pakistan reached an all-time low after Mohsin Naqvi's antics last night in Dubai after India's epic Asia Cup 2025 Trophy win. As Suryakumar Yadav & Co. refused to let their guard down, not collecting the Trophy from the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Chief Naqvi, who is also Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, fled the presentation scene with the Continental Cup Trophy, leaving the victorious Indian team stranded trophy less.
All this while it was noted that the ACC Chief left the presentation scene when Surya & Co. boycotted him. However, a fresh video has gone viral, capturing the exact moment when Naqvi left. While he refrained from carrying the Asia Cup Trophy, one of his spokespersons carried it. The Indian team stood their ground waiting for their plea to be heard, which was ultimately dismissed.

They insisted that the Continental Cup be handed to them by Khalid Al Zarooni, vice-chairman of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), but once ACC rejected the idea, Surya & Co. became more steadfast in their stance.

When Naqvi lost his cool
PCB and ACC Chair were at the center of the controversy for a long time. Having flown in from the USA, optimistic in handing the trophy to the Pakistan team, his plans did not come true as India yet again defeated them for the record third straight time in a last-over thriller to clinch their ninth Asia Cup Trophy. Naqvi waited alone at the stage, as the Indian team waited in one corner, refusing to relent.
The Chair's patience was even tested when the Pakistan team, like India did three weeks ago, locked themselves inside the dressing room. After more than an hour, the presentation finally kick-started, and when it did, the chain of events did not impress Naqvi one bit. For reasons not known, the Men In Green gave him a cold shoulder, with none of the players making eye contact or responding to him.
Even the loser medals were handed out to the Pakistan team by the BCB Chairman, Animul Islam. Most probably, the Pakistan team was disappointed, and one thing led to another; the PCB Chair lost his cool. He was also spotted staring at a different part of the stadium when Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, and Shivam Dube collected their respective trophies. It is at this moment that Naqvi had had enough. As the Men In Blue waited for the celebrations to start - with or without a trophy - Naqvi stormed off, taking the Cup with him.
