Tension rose among the fans as No Indian flag was seen among the other guest nations playing in the Champions Trophy 2025 in all the Stadiums that host the tournament in Pakistan. The video that was shared on Twitter sparked tension among fans about why there was no Indian among the other flags.
This year's Champions Trophy was originally scheduled to be in Pakistan as all the nations agreed to play whereas India was firm in their decision not to play due to a security concern, This led to huge debate among the boards PCB and BCCI trying to come out with different options but it was ICC who intervened and solved the issue by introducing a Hybrid model to this year's Champions Trophy 2025 with India’s Matches to be played in Dubai and rest of the matches will be played in three venues across Pakistan.
Then another issue continued as BCCI was not ready to print Pakistan’s name on their Champions Trophy Jersey, But once again ICC intervened and ordered India to Emboss the host nation's name in their jersey and they agreed.
An opening ceremony was planned ahead of the tournament in Pakistan, where eight captains were expected to participate in a photoshoot followed by a curtain-raiser featuring art and dance. However, the BCCI stated that they would not allow Rohit Sharma to travel to Pakistan due to security concerns. This decision regarding the Indian captain's participation led to the cancellation of the opening ceremony. This marks the first time in ICC tournament history that an opening ceremony has been canceled since its inception.
To further complicate matters, Pakistan failed to display the Indian flag among other national flags at the Gaddafi Stadium. Fans have debated this omission and concluded that it could signify India's decision against playing in Pakistan, opting instead to hold all their matches in Dubai.
