It was vintage AB de Villiers against England Champions in the World Championship of Legends 2025 (WCL 2025). He smashed a 41-ball ton in the eighth match of the tournament.

Leading from the front against England Champions at Grace Road in Leicester on July 24, the Proteas legend scored an unbeaten 116 off 51 balls, guiding his side to a dominant 10-wicket victory in a one-sided contest.

He formed a 153-run partnership with Hashim Amla, who scored 29* runs off 25 balls. With this victory, South Africa have earned six points and are placed at the top of the WCL 2025 points table.

AB de Villiers Goes Beast Mode, Smashes 41-Ball Century vs England Champions in WCL 2025

After winning the toss, AB de Villiers elected to bowl first. England Champions posted 152/6 in their 20 overs.

Wicketkeeper-batter Phil Mustard was the top-scorer with 39 off 33 balls, while Samit Patel chipped in with a quickfire 24 off 16. South Africa’s bowling was disciplined, with Imran Tahir and Wayne Parnell both picking up two wickets each to keep the English batters in check.

What followed was a batting spectacle. Opening the innings, de Villiers came out with aggressive intent and did not take long to get going. He launched the ball to all parts of the ground. De Villiers reached his century in just 41 balls. His knock of 116* came off only 51 deliveries and included 15 fours and seven sixes.

This was not the first time de Villiers dazzled in the WCL 2025. Just two days earlier, against India Champions at the County Ground in Northampton, he had scored 63* off 30 balls, helping his team post 208/6. South Africa went on to bowl out India for 111 in that match.

South Africa Champions Sit on Top of Points Table

With the thumping win against England Champions, South Africa continued their unbeaten run in the WCL 2025. Their three wins have placed them at the top of the points table.

They will face Pakistan Champions on July 25. With de Villiers in unstoppable form and the bowling unit firing, South Africa will be favourites heading into the clash.
