The Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium, also called the Nava Raipur International Cricket Stadium, is one of India’s most impressive cricketing venues. The venue is named after Veer Narayan Singh Binjhwar, who led the 1857 Sepoy Rebellion in Chhattisgarh. The stadium has a seating capacity of around 65,000 spectators, making it the third biggest cricket ground in India and the fourth largest in the world.
The stadium opened its gates in 2008 with the first recorded game taking place in 2010 when Canada’s national cricket team played a practice fixture against the Chhattisgarh state side.
In 2013, it was chosen as a secondary home ground for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). It became the 50th international cricket stadium in the country in 2023.
