Wanderers Stadium, also known as Kent Park, was established in the year 1956 and is one of the oldest stadiums in South Africa. Known for its famous nickname ‘Bull Ring’ because of its intense, compact design that boosts the crowd’s energy — a feature loved by fans and dreaded by visiting teams.

The venue can accommodate up to 34,000 spectators and features two ends: Corlett Drive End and Golf Course End. The stadium got its floodlights upgraded in 1996; since then, it has hosted numerous day/night matches, featuring teams like South Africa, Joburg Super Kings (SA20), and the Highveld Lions domestic side.

Wanderers Stadium features a natural turf pitch, which helps bowlers extract more bounce and pace. However, batters have recently enjoyed batting on this surface in limited-overs formats, as the venue has seen several high-scoring games. In red-ball cricket, though, the surface still poses a challenge for batters.
