Things have turned out worse for the Australia A cricketers who are currently on a tour in India. BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla has declared that four Australia A cricketers have fallen sick. The cause of the sickness is deemed to be food poisoning after the cricketers felt ill after consuming food at a Kanpur hotel.
Matters took a turn for the worse when pacer Henry Thornton had to be admitted to the hospital on account of food poisoning.

"If there had been an issue with the food, all players, including the Indian players, would have fallen sick. It must have been something else," Rajeev Shukla told reporters.
"They are being fed food from one of the finest hotels, Hotel Landmark; the food is good, and everyone is eating the same.

Rajeev Shukla claims food infection
"Since a few players have fallen ill, idhar-udhar se koi infection aa gaya hoga (they may have contracted an infection), and we are handling it," he added.
"The issue arises because there aren't many hotels. We need 300 rooms in a five-star hotel, and that's not available.
"There is no international airport in the area that operates 24 hours a day. Had better arrangements been in place, they would have gained an advantage."
It was the hosts, India A, who won the 3-match series. The hosts wrapped up the series with a convincing 2-1 win over their Australian counterparts.
Prabhsimran Singh’s brilliant century and dual fifties by Shreyas Iyer and Riyan Parag were enough to ensure India A a 2-wicket win in Kanpur last Sunday.
