It is an all-Indian show for the ICC Player of the Month award for September. Abhishek Shama and Kuldeep Yadav have been nominated for the Men’s category, while ace batter Smriti Mandhana was also selected for the women’s category.

Both Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav were instrumental in India’s success in the Asia Cup 2025. The southpaw opener took the tournament by storm, while the leggie was crucial in picking wickets at regular intervals. Meanwhile, Mandhana was instrumental in defeating Australia in the ODI series, where she was adjudged the Player of the series.

Apart from Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav, Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett is also nominated for the ICC award. Meanwhile, Sidra Amin of Pakistan and Tazmin Britts of South Africa will fight with Mandhana for the award as well.

Indians rule September for ICC Monthly Award

Abhishek Sharma showcased why he is the number 1 T20I batter in the Asia Cup 2025. He raked up 314 runs from 7 games with a strong average of 44.85. The southpaw hammered his opposition with a heavy strike rate of over 200.

India’s ace leggie Kuldeep Yadav was another star of the show. He was the highest wicket-taker of the Asia Cup 2025 with 17 scalps to his name. Armed with an average of 9.29 and a modest economy of 6.27, he bagged a four-fer in the final against Pakistan, which India won.

As for the Women’s category, the star of the show was Smriti Mandhana against the formidable Aussies. She hammered 308 runs in the 4 ODI matches with a strong average of 77 and a brilliant strike rate of 135.68. The vice-captain led the charge of the Indian attack in the home ODI series and also reached a major milestone where she scored the fastest century in the 50-over format by any Indian batter.
