Shreyas Iyer yet again proved to be India's crisis man as he saved India from an early collapse against New Zealand in the ongoing Champions Trophy clash in Dubai. India were 30 for 3 when Shreyas Iyer came at the crease. From there, the right-hand batter stabilized India's innings. Giving him company was Axar Patel, who looked in fine touch before he was out for (42) runs.
With India's top-order batters having a rare off day, the onus of run-scoring was on India's middle-order batters to anchor the innings and keep the scoreboard moving. Axar and Shreyas did exactly that as the duo absorbed all the pressure and started to take calculative risks. Shreyas was the aggressor between the two as he kept chipping away with odd boundaries. Meanwhile, Axar was happy to play second fiddle and ensured India did not lose further wickets.
Shreyas has reached 50 and is looking good to convert his start into a potential hundred. Giving him company now is KL Rahul.

Shreyas Iyer key as India looks to finish strongly
India will be eyeing to get to 250 at least. With Shreyas set now, the batter would look to hit top gear and give the innings the much-needed impetus. With finishers like Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja to follow, India will be hoping to finish with a bang.
