Virat Kohli once again proved he is a man made for big moments as his solid 50 in the ongoing semi-final match against Australia stabilized the India innings after they lost Shubman Gill (8), and Rohit Sharma (28) earlier in the chase of 265. Kohli soaked up all the pressure and is taking the calculative risk in his favorite genre - Run Chase. Giving him company at the other end was Shreyas Iyer, who was looking in fine nick before he was castled by Adam Zampa for (45) runs.
India got off to an inauspicious start as Gill struggled for timing on a sluggish Dubai surface. The right-hand batter played and missed a few shots before he was eventfully dismissed by Dwarshuis. After that, skipper Rohit Sharma blazed in the power play and looked like taking the game away from Australia, but a loose sweep shot of Cooper Connolly brought his undoing. After that, it was Kohli's show all the way, as he started to keep the scoreboard ticking by taking singles and twos.
Virat Kohli key to run chase as India eyes final spot
So far, the former India capatin has played Zampa and Connolly well, and will be looking to bat deep if India harbour hopes of making it to the final of CT. Giving him company is Axar Patel, who is in good form of late with bat in hand. KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya are other middle-order batters to follow.
