Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will go head-to-head in the fourth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on March 24 at Visakhapatnam’s Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium.
With new leaders and revamped rosters from the IPL 2025 mega auction, both camps are chomping at the bit to kickstart their campaign. DC have a new skipper at the helm - Axar Patel. They retained Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs, Abhishek Porel along with Axar. Faf du Plessis and Mitchell Starc were two of their key overseas signings and they bought back Jake Fraser-McGurk and Mukesh Kumar in the auction.
KL Rahul is another name, who will don the DC jersey this season. However, his availability for the first few games is uncertain due to personal reasons.
Former DC captain Rishabh Pant has made a switch to Lucknow Super Kings, who shelled INR 27 crore for him. He will be joined by Mitchell Marsh and David Miller to add to LSG's explosive batting unit.
The concern for the Super Giants lies in their pace attack. Mohsin Khan has been ruled out of IPL 2025 due to an ACL tear. Shardul Thakur has joined the team as his replacement. Adding to their woes, Avesh Khan, Akash Deep and Mayank Yadav are also likely to miss starting matches as they are recovering from injuries.
