Watch - Jofra Archer Making His County Return

He was seen bowling at good speed on his county return. He almost took a wicket on return on his return for Sussex. In his first delivery, he almost had the batter nicking one down the leg side.

He seemed fit and raring to go in the manner that he ran into bowl. England's bowling attack without the likes of Archer and Mark Wood looks a lot thinner. His county return is a sign of the fact that he is likely to make a comeback in the second Test at Edgbaston starting from July 2.

England skipper Ben Stokes said that Jofra Archer is desperate to play the India Test series. The captain, however, emphasised the need for caution given Archer's lengthy injury struggles.

"He’s been absolutely desperate to put the white shirt back on. Randomly, a couple of times, he would just send me a text saying, ‘Zim?. I was like, ‘Let’s just hold it right there, all right. I know you’re in a good spot right now, but let’s not just rush into it" Stokes said in the pre-match press conference ahead of the first Test.
