Rohit Sharma had a fan moment in the match against Rajasthan Royals on Thursday, May 2. He was at his absolute best with the bat against the side as his and Ryan Rikelton's fifties gave MI a solid platform to post a big score.
Rohit scored 53 runs off 36 balls, and along with Rickelton, who scored 61 runs off 38 balls, added 116 runs for the first wicket. Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav then scored 48 runs each on 23 balls to take MI to 217 runs for 2 wickets in their 20 overs.
Despite the best efforts from Rajasthan Royals batters, MI won the match by 100 runs and is currently topping the IPL 2025 points table. MI and RCB are on 14 points each; however, MI is topping the table courtesy of a better NRR.

As a side, they are peaking at the right time, having won six games on the trot after losing their first two games to start the campaign. MI have been slow starters historically in the league but now with six wins on the trot, are back to their best and looking seemingly unbeatable at the moment.
After putting up a huge score with the bat against RR, they bowled the Rajasthan Royals out for 117, earning a 100-run win. This was the first win for Mumbai Indians against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium since 2012.
Meanwhile, what happened after the match between MI and RR broke the internet. RR pacer Akash Madhwal met with Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh with folded hands. The internet praised the youngster for showing respect to the senior statesman of the IPL and international cricket.

Madhwal bowled a spell of 39 runs in his four overs without a wicket. He played for MI in IPL 2023 and registered figures of 5 wickets for 5 runs in the IPL 2023 Eliminator against LSG. Meanwhile, RR's loss to MI eliminated them from IPL 2025. The Royals were the second team to be eliminated from the season after CSK.
