Cheteshwar Pujara has heaped praise on KL Rahul by calling him the best batter in the current Indian team ahead of Day four of the first England vs India Leeds Test. Rahul is unbeaten on 47 and has to play a crucial role on Day four to help India set up a big fourth-innings score. However, while Pujara lauded the right-hand batter, he has urged the opener to bat more responsibly.
India's former number three batter's comments came after the senior batter threw away a good start in the first innings to be dismissed on (42) runs. Pujara, in his analysis of Rahul, terms him the most technically sound batter in the current Indian team. The expert further heaped praise on the opener by saying he is the most complete batter, one that can easily adapt and bat in any situation.
"Technically, he's one of the most correct batsmen in the Indian Test team, and the way he times the ball, the way his footwork is, the way he judges the length, he looks like he's a complete Test player. But at the same time, he has to score big runs, and he's capable enough, but there are times where he gets off to a good start, and then he gets out," Cheteshwar Pujara said about KL Rahul on the broadcast.

KL Rahul needs to capitalize on good starts: Pujara
"We saw in the first innings. It was a perfect time for him to capitalize. He batted really well. He gave us a good start, but after that, it was a bit disappointing to see him get out because it was a perfect opportunity for him to get that 100. But now, in this innings, it looks like he has started off really well once again. He's batting on 47. If he gets to that 50 mark because that's a nervous time for KL Rahul. Once he crosses his 50, then most of the time he converts it into a big one. So tomorrow, let's hope that he carries on from here and then gets a big one," he added.

India's fortunes will hinge on KL Rahul, who has yet again managed to get to a decent start and is batting on (47) runs. If the right-hand batter bats deep and helps the team set up a huge total, then the visitors will be in the driver's seat. India leads by 96 runs with eight wickets in hand at the end of Day three.
