The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the Decision Review System (DRS) is unavailable for the Pakistan vs Bangladesh T20I series starting from May 28.

The two teams will be playing the series just days after the PSL 2025 final ended. Lahore Qalandars won the PSL 2025 final on Sunday, May 25, playing against Quetta Gladiators.

Meanwhile, multiple reports have said that the PCB has confirmed the unavailability of the technology for the upcoming series.

Technical Staff Did Not Agree To Return Back To Pakistan

The reason behind PCB unable to afford the DRS is because of the absence of technical staff for this series who handle the technology. A report in PTI previously reported that the technicians who operated the DRS have backed out from returning to Pakistan on the back of cross-border tension between India and Pakistan. They will not be traveling for this series as well.

With the Hawk-Eye Team not returning to Pakistan for the upcoming series against Bangladesh, the DRS technology will not be implemented in any of the three matches. Interestingly, DRS was used in PSL before the IPL. The PSL has been using the DRS since 2017. IPL introduced it first in 2018.

Both PSL and IPL 2025 resumed on May 17. 8 games including the final was remaining in the PSL when the league got postponed due to cross-border tension between India and Pakistan. The tournament concluded on May 25 with the Lahore Qalandars winning their third IPL title. Meanwhile, the IPL 2025, whose dates were also postponed, will conclude on May 3.
