The Ranji Trophy 2024-25 Final came to an end with Vidarbha lifting their third Ranji title. The side won the match courtesy of their 37-run first innings lead over their rivals.
Vidarbha's Danish Malewar ended up as the Player of the Match. The Player of The Series Award was also won by Vidarbha's Harsh Dubey who ended with 68 wickets in the tournament. Two betters from Vidarbha Harsh Rathord (960 runs in 10 matches ) and Karun Nair (863 runs in 9 matches) stole the limelight in this tournament.
Vidarbha scored 379 in their first innings after crucial knocks from Danish Malewar (153 off 285) and Karun Nair (88 off 188) too them to that score. Kerala in response to Vidarbha's first innings total responded by scoring 342 in their first innings. Kerala in their second innings scored 375/9 in almost 176 overs.

There was no chance for Kerala to even think about chasing such a target with only a session remaining as the players decided to shake hands and end the game. Vidarbha won the match courtesy of their crucial 37-run first innings lead which ultimately became the deciding factor in the match.
The match saw batters from both teams score runs in aplenty with the bowlers struggling. Left-arm spinner from Kerala Aditya Sarwate took four wickets in the second innings. Kerala used six bowlers in the second innings with the rest of the bowlers sharing the other five wickets between themselves.
Vidarbha skipper Akshay Wadkar received the trophy from the BCCI President. He thanked his players and acknowledged their contribution throughout the tournament.
"The boys are very happy, we have worked very hard for this. We lost the final last year, so we started preparing from the monsoon. Everyone worked on their skills and fitness for this season. We have our batters and bowlers in the top four or five. Yash Rathod and Malewar are capable of playing crucial knocks, they stepped up for us at crucial times. They showed their mental toughness when the team was in trouble. Proves their mettle. As a player and as a captain when you are playing a Ranji trophy, it's always a dream to lift the Ranji title" said Akshay.
This was another Ranji Trophy season that saw Karun Nair score a truckload of runs. He was also back in contention for an India comeback for the Champions Trophy but he was not included in the end as Ajit Agarkar said that he does not fit into the current squad for Team India.
