Rohit Sharma has not won a single toss in this tournament so far. However, India did the basics right and have been unbeaten so far in this tournament. They beat the Kiwis in their last league game to reach the semi-finals.

In the semi-final, they take on Australia in a repeat of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 final. Australia beat India in the famous game in Ahmedabad two years later and now India have their chance to avenge that defeat.

India have played all their games in Dubai and many experts have felt that the venue has almost been like India's home ground in this tournament so far. The team have chosen the playing XI based on the conditions and the results have come in their favour so far.

Toss Is An Advantage - Aakash Chopra

Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra in his recent YouTube video has spoke about the importance of the toss in the huge semi-final clash against Australia. He said that the toss will be important in the semi-final despite it not impacting India in their previous games.

"I personally feel toss is an advantage. We haven't won a single toss thus far. Rohit has sworn that he won't win the toss and won't lose the match. It sounds alright, but toss is a problem. Australia won the toss in Ahmedabad and, against the popular belief, they decided to bowl first. That was their thinking but toss played a critical part," he said.

The former Indian cricketer then spoke about the pressure of a run-chase in the big semi-final against Australia. India chased 229 against Bangladesh and 242 against Pakistan. However, Chopra believes that India might face problems chasing 270 if Australia end up putting up that score batting first.

"If you have a decent total on the board, it's very difficult to chase on this ground. So if someone tells you that the toss is not important at all and it's not necessary to bat first as you can restrict the team batting first, you might be able to do that, I understand Australia do not have a strong spin attack, but if they score 270, it won't be chased easily," he said.

India Have Lost Last 13 Tosses In ODIs

Chopra concluded by backing India to chase 260 and further emhpasising the importance of toss in this contest. He also requested Rohit Sharma to win the toss in this crucial match. India have lost the toss in their last 13 ODI matches with Rohit leading in 10 of those games.

"So, in my opinion, the toss has incredible importance in this game. Whoever wins the toss will bat and the match will tilt slightly in their favor. If India bat first and reach 260-270, I can give you in writing that India won't lose. Rohit, please win one toss," Chopra concluded.
