Suryakumar Yadav Ranji dismissal

Suryakumar Yadav's inclusion in the Mumbai squad for their quarter-final clash against Haryana did not prove to bera right decision. The Indian T20I captain batting for his state team lasted just five balls as his bad form with the bat continued.

After his struggles against England in the T20I series, SKY venturing to play for Mumbai against Haryana in the Ranji Trophy quarter-final scored just nine off five balls before he was dismissed by Sumit Kumar, the fast-bowling all-rounder from Haryana.

Mumbai won the toss and opted to bat first. The side is currently struggling at 95/6. Ajinkya Rahane, the skipper was dismissed for 31 off 58 balls. Shivam Dube was also dismssed for 28 off 32 balls. Both Dube and SKY recently played in the T20I series against England.

Mumbai are pinging their hopes once again on Shardul Thakur who scored a century in the Ranji Trophy clash against Jammu & Kashmir. The all-rounder once again has the job of bailing his team out of trouble.

Haryana pacer Anshul Kamboj has taken three wickets so far in the match. He started the proceedings by dismissing opener Ayush Mhatre for a duck in the very fiorst ball of the match. He then dismissed Siddhesh Lad and went through the defences of Ajinkya Rahane, the Mumbai skipper.

Rahane's wicket was a body blow to Mumbai as he was the batter who looked set. The Ranji Trophy holders are now seriously struggling in the very first day of the quarter-final at Eden Gardens. After losing to Jammu & Kashmir, Mumbai defeated Meghalaya in their final Elite Group A match to make it to the quarter-final. They need to play a lot better from here to make it to the semi-final.

Previously seeing SKY struggling against England in the T20I series, former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin suggested him to make a few changes in his batting.

“The problem though, however, is Suryakumar's batting. Of course, his captaincy has been really good in this series. His captaincy has been on point, too. But he can allow his batting some much-needed breathing space. Sanju Samson and SKY getting out to the same ball, same field, same shot, same mistake, same dismissal,” Ashwin said on his YouTube channel ‘Ash Ki Baat’.
