Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah took centerstage at Coldplay's concert at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on Republic Day, January 26. Bumrah was present among the crowd as the Indian pacer attended the concert.
The British Rockband and Coldplay recently concluded their India journey as part of the 'Music of the Spheres' World Tour. They performed for three days in Mumbai and two days in Ahmedabad. On the final day, their concert was attended by the Indian pacer.
It was then that Coldplay's lead singer Chris Martin decided to play a tribute to the star Indian pacer. He even sug a few lines of a particular song dedicated to Bumrah.
Coldplay's Dedicated Song To Jasprit Bumrah
"Jasprit, Jasprit, wellll… Jasprit my beautiful brother. The best bowler in the whole of cricket, we do not enjoy watching you destroy, England, with wicket, after wicket, after wicket," Chris Martin sang as Bumrah was shown on the giant screen at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.Â
The India pacer was very modest as he accepted the gesture from Chris Martin. "This made me smile! Incredible vibe at the Coldplay concert in Mumbai (from what I've seen here) and even more special to be mentioned" Bumrah responded saying.
Coldplay also gave a tribute to Bumrah during their concert at Mumbai. In that concert, Chris Martin played the clip of Bumrah's dismissal of Ollie Pope when England toured India in 2024.
On the opening day of the concert at Navi Mumbai, Martin joked about Bumrah saying that he was present backstage and had asked him to pause the concert for 15 minutes so that he could bowl to him.
Meanwhile, the Indian pacer's chances to play in the Champions Trophy look slim. New Zealand doctor Dr. Rowan Schouten said that it is unlikely that the Indian pacer will be fit in time for the ICC event. Â The pacer has reportedly been in touch with Dr. Rowan Schouten in New Zealand and is also scheduled to visit the country for treatment ahead of the Champions Trophy.
If Bumrah is eventually ruled out, Mohammed Siraj or Harshit Rana can replace him in the XI as backup.
