The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2027 is set to receive a world-record prize money of $13.88 million (USD) — a massive 297 percent increase from the $3.5 million awarded at the previous edition in New Zealand in 2022.
The 2025 Women's World Cup is set to take place in Sri Lanka and India, the winner of this competition will receive a staggering $4.8 million. Notably, the total prize pot for the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023, held in India, was $10 million.
Meanwhile, the runners-up will take home $2.24 million, marking a 273% jump from the $600,000 England earned three years ago. The two losing semi-finalists will each receive $1.12 million, up from $300,000 in 2022.

Jay Shah Calls Record Prize Money a Landmark Moment for Women’s Cricket
The historic prize money was announced by ICC Chairman Jay Shah, who highlighted the progress and rising benchmark of women’s cricket over the years.
"This four-fold increase in prize money is a landmark moment for women’s cricket and reflects our clear commitment to its long-term growth." Women’s cricket is on a remarkable upward trajectory, and with this step, we are confident the momentum will accelerate.

He further noted that women’s cricket will be brought on par with the men’s game in the coming years a move he believes will inspire the next generation of cricketers.
"Our message is simple: women cricketers must know they will be treated on par with men if they choose this sport professionally. The uplift underscores our ambition to deliver a world-class ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup and to inspire the next generation of players and fans.

The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 is set to begin on September 30 in Barsapara Stadium, with hosts India taking on Sri Lanka in the tournament opener.
