After India's 2-2 draw in the recently concluded Test series against England, attention shifts to the Asia Cup 2025 event, which is scheduled to begin on September 09 to 28. The five Tests were especially grueling to pacers Mohammed Siraj & Jasprit Bumrah, who are most likely to be assessed before the crucial Continental Cup tournament.
While Bumrah just played the three out of the five Tests, Siraj was one of the two bowlers across both teams to play all five Tests, bowling a colossal 185 overs - the most by a pacer in the series. With such an intense pressure of workload, both pacers will be carefully monitored by the BCCI before the Asia Cup kicks off in the UAE.
According to the PTI report, BCCI is aiming to make sure Bumrah, as well as Mohammed Siraj, remain fit with a one-month break ahead of the duo. To make sure they are available for the Asia Cup, the pacers will undergo a fitness assessment before the selection meeting, scheduled to happen by the end of August. India will begin their Continental Cup on September 10 against the host nation, the UAE. India will play six T20Is, but the BCCI is not willing to take any risks as the West Indies Test series will begin on October 02.
BCCI contemplating tweaking batting order for Asia Cup
Besides Bumrah and Siraj's headache, the BCCI also plans to consider the workloads of Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Sai Sudarshan, who were part of the Test series against England. Gill & Jaiswal have not featured in T20Is for more than a year, while Sudarshan has played only one T20I in July 2024.

However, with the trio showing good form in the IPL 2025 season, and also with the T20 World Cup 2026 set to be played in February, the BCCI is likely to include the trio for the Asia Cup 2025 event.
