Kuldeep Yadav in all probability, is expected to play in the second Test against England starting from July 2. He was not considered for selection in the first Test with Ravindra Jadeja being the lone spinner.

However, heading into the second Test, India might make a few changes to the side. Kuldeep Yadav might come in as the second spinner alongside Jadeja. Also, there are talks about Nitish Kumar Reddy's inclusion as well.

The Indian bowling attack in the first Test did not make an impact with the ball apart from Jasprit Bumrah. Spin played very little part till day 5 when they really came into the picture. However, there was still not much on the wicket. England spinner Shoaib Bashir picked up just three wickets while Ravindra Jadeja picked just one wicket in the match.

Kevin Pietersen Told Me About The Mindset Needed In England: Kuldeep Yadav

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav in an interview with Indian Express shared a few insights that he was suggested by Kevin Pietersen, the former England spinner.

"Kevin Petersen was part of our team at DC. He gave me a lot of inputs for the England tour. He told me about fielding positions, pitches and the batsmen. We ran through their batting line up. He told me about the mindset needed in England," Kuldeep said.
"Pietersen said that generally spinners come to England with a defensive mindset. They think that in England, fast bowlers will get wickets and they will be in a supporting role. He told me to take the field with an attacking mindset. If I get a game and bowl 15 to 20 overs, I have to always think about how to get the batsmen out," he added.

Kuldeep Yadav has an impressive record against England in Test matches having picked up 21 wickets in six Tests at an average of 22.29. However, he has played just two Test matches outside the subcontinent and also has a fifer to show for his abilities against Australia in the 2018-19 series in Sydney.

Kuldeep Primed To Play At Edgbaston

He said that taking wickets is the only way to prove your worth as a bowler. Meanwhile, the second IND vs ENG Test match starts from July 2 at Edgbaston.

"Apan ko kuch aata nahi hai bowling ke aalava (I don’t know anything other than bowling). If you don’t take wickets, you can’t justify yourself for playing in England. If you don’t take wickets, I don’t think you deserve to play," Kuldeep concluded saying.
