Things will get tougher if they don't perform well against New Zealand, as they will face tougher oppositions in latter stages. While they must have addressed the issue, it remains to be seen how their batters play against slow bowlers in the latter stages of the tournament.
The Proteas batting revolves around the Wolvaardt-Britts combo. If both batters fail, then the team's shaky middle and lower-order batters face difficulty in posting a good score. New Zealand bowlers would be aiming to keep this African duo quite, as if they succeed, the task would be easier for them. In the first game against Australia, the White Ferns bowlers lost the plot slightly in the middle overs. They would be keen not to make those same mistakes against South Africa.
