Former IPL Chairman Lalit Modi stirred a controversy by sharing the unseen footage of the old video, which is famously known as the Slapgate scandal incident between Harbhajan Singh and S. Sreesanth.
The off-spinner opened up about the incident and the viral video, and accused Lalit Modi of being selfish for releasing old footage of the incident.
"The way the video has been leaked, it's wrong. It shouldn't have happened. There might be a selfish motive behind it. Something that happened 18 years ago — people had forgotten it, and now they’re being reminded again," Harbhajan Singh told Instant Bollywood, reacting strongly to the viral video clip.

The former India off-spinner has already expressed regret over the infamous IPL incident multiple times in the past and publicly apologised to Sreesanth. The two have patched things up since and moved on.

Reacting further to the clip doing rounds on social media, Harbhajan owned up to the incident once again and stressed that he has sought forgiveness.
"Yes, the video has gone viral. It was an unfortunate incident, and I’ve said many times I made a mistake. Humans make mistakes, and I did one too. I’ve even prayed to Lord Ganesh to forgive me if I ever do it again. Mistakes happen," he added.
The incident, which took place in the early years of the IPL, remains one of the most controversial moments in tournament history. And now, despite both players having moved past it, the resurfacing of the video has dragged the old wound back into the spotlight for no good reason.
